Choosing a financial advisor is a personal decision. Get to know Hamilton Wealth Management with straightforward answers about our approach, costs, and what to expect.

Getting started

Who does Hamilton Wealth Management work with?

We work with individuals and families approaching or living in retirement who want a coordinated plan for their investments, income, and financial decisions. Our focus is helping you move from building wealth to using it thoughtfully throughout retirement.

Is there a minimum investment to work with HWM?

Our services are generally best suited for households with $750,000 or more in investable assets. An introductory conversation helps us understand your circumstances and determine whether our services are a good fit.

What happens during the first meeting?

We begin with a complimentary exploratory meeting to learn about your current situation, priorities, and goals. Before we meet, we ask you to complete a short Prospective Client Questionnaire. If we believe we can help, we explain the next steps in our Find Your Future™ Process.

Fees & trust

How is your firm compensated?

We are primarily compensated through an advisory fee based on the assets we manage. We may also receive compensation for fixed annuity or insurance products when those products are appropriate for a client’s situation. We explain our fees and how we are compensated before you decide to work with us. You should also understand any separate investment or account expenses that may apply.

Do you act as a fiduciary?

When providing investment advisory services through Private Advisor Group, a Registered Investment Advisor, we have a fiduciary duty to act in our advisory clients’ best interests. We welcome questions about how that responsibility applies to your relationship with us, how we are compensated, and any potential conflicts of interest.

Planning & your relationship

How will you invest my money?

We build portfolios around your goals, income needs, timeline, and comfort with risk. Our approach considers a range of asset classes rather than relying on the same stock-and-bond mix for every client. We explain the role of the investments we recommend and adjust as appropriate. Learn more about our investment approach. Investing involves risk, and diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss.

Can you help me plan for income in retirement?

Yes. We look at how your investments, Social Security, pensions, and other resources can work together to support your expected spending. We also consider withdrawals, taxes, and how your needs may change over time. Explore our financial planning services.

Can you coordinate planning with my CPA or attorney?

We consider tax and estate matters as part of your broader financial picture and coordinate with your CPA or attorney when needed. This can help connect investment decisions, retirement withdrawals, account ownership, and beneficiary choices. Your tax and legal professionals provide the tax and legal advice specific to your situation.

How often will we meet?

Meeting frequency is tailored to your needs. We meet regularly to review your financial situation and remain available when questions or life events arise. Our relationship continues as your priorities, circumstances, and retirement plans evolve.

Where will my investment accounts be held?

Charles Schwab serves as the custodian for the investment accounts we manage. HWM provides investment management, while Schwab holds your assets and provides account statements. Our Client Portals page offers access to the Orion Client Portal and Schwab Alliance.
